Quartzite Mnt Nursery, and a new wood project…

Sunday, May 3rd 2009

I am back living in Chewelah for the time being.  Relocating south to Spokane for a single, three credit college class, (all that financial aid would cover) just wasn’t worth the move.  Fall quarter might become a different story, but for now I have decided to go back to work, and in turn build on stability and security.

For the past few weeks I have been working again at Quartzite Mountain Nursery here in Chewelah.  I am on the loading crew again, driving equipment and loading refrigerated trucks.  The pay is not like it use to be, but the long hours are making up for that.  Weekly income has been long overdue in my life.

It’s been quite some time since I worked on a worrd project.  After making all those beds: the king bedframe, the queen bedframe and the bunk beds.  And after making my desk, the table and the bench, the last project I had begun was a coffee table.  Lately I have been wanting to get back to working with wood.  It had been a couple of years since I last worked on a wood project.  This table was the last project I had begun, so finishing this piece was where I had to start again.
Here are two pictures of the sanded table top:

I still need to fabricate how I will create the legs, but I have a couple of ideas.

No school, but that’s ok…

Things didn’t work out the way that I had planned for school.  Financial aid only gave me enough aid for 5 credits for Fall quarter.  I could not justify commuting or moving to Spokane for only one or two classes.  I instead applied for a job at the tree farm here in Chewelah where I have worked driving equipment in the past.  I started work last week and got put on the loading crew loading refer trucks using skidsters.  Not a bad job.

I will work through the summer and then see about school in the Fall.  At least I have a JOB!

Back to School…

04-08-09, Wed.

My financial aid has been approved for Spring quarter, so I am back to school.  I have one class to complete and then I will be finished with my Administrative/Computer Specialist degree.  At the same time I am working on my A.A. and working on my pre-reqs for my B.A. in Managment Information Systems.

It has been over a year now since I last attended college and I am excited to get back to the grind.  I feel refreshed and renewed.

It’s already 2009! How time flies!

It’s already 2009!  How time flies!

Along with this new beginning, change I believe for me is likely in order.  But before I look on to the next year before me I would like to take a few moments to ponder some of the life changes and accomplishments which occurred for me in the last year.

As 2008 began I was living in Spokane with my sister, while I attended college at the Falls, but in all honesty the first real accomplishment for the year began around September.  It was then that I decided upon several required major life changes.  I quit smoking cigarettes after smoking for 19 years while at the same time I also cleaned up other life hindering habits.  I moved to the country where I now live.  There is no running water or indoor plumbing, and the electricity is off the grid.  My diet also got a drastic overhaul.  I quit eating meat, cut way back on sweets and started an herb dietary supplement regiment and exercise program.

Over the last few months and because of these changes I have gained back a few needed pounds and increased my overall body muscle.  I feel and look healthier than I have in years.

In the last few months of 2008 I went to the Chiropractor several times to work on my posture and I put several hundred dollars into dental work.  For the first time in my life I grew out my beard, letting it grow for several months.

During the past year love again was found and lost, which was probably for the best.

I know that 2009 will be bringing many changes in my life, all for the better, maybe soon I will figure them out.

Youtube hits update…

It’s been quite a while since I have posted any entries on how my youtube videos are doing…  In past posts I have wrote how my video’s had surpassed 1000 hits and such, and the grand total is much higher now (34,344 to be exact).

Of all the video’s I had posted, the Daughtry video for “What About Now” was my favorite and was receiving the most hits (over 10,000 hits for this video alone) but youtube blocked it.  Since that incident I have not worked on creating any new videos after the posting of the one I had been working on, Dido: “Here With Me”.

So there we have it.  Almost 35,000 hits overall on 6 videos, (5 of which are still posted) over less than a one year period.  Not too shabby…

…maybe it even makes me want to create something new soon. 🙂

Life, as it is currently…

Life, as it is currently…

I am still living in the Springdale area for the time being…  I have applied to start school again for the Winter quarter, but it appears that I will not be getting the financial aid that I need.  I will then be looking for a job to get me through the winter.  I would like to finish my schooling, but it appears that I will need to wait.

I am single again, and I really don’t know what to think of life.

Missing her…

It is a few minutes until Sabbath.  I just got off the phone with Heather.  I miss her!

Day of Rest…

Today I rose at 7 A.M. as normal lately, read from Steps to Christ with the Shrock family, ate breakfast and took a nap.  I am wiped out.  The steam detox that I had yesterday, and herb drink that I am taking twice a day of two different varieties, along with chopping wood left me with no energy today.  I spoke with Andrew and he said that I need to rest.  Plenty of water and rest is what I am to do today.  Miss Lena added prayer to that list : )

Will I End Up With A Broken Heart Again?

I shouldn’t have any expectations, and about most everything that is happening with my life at this time I have no expected outcome in mind.  But in all actuality, I expect to have my heart broken again.

I think too much!

Detox…

This morning I was to start my detoxification with Andrew.  About 9 A.M. I walked through the horse pasture over to Andrew and Denise’s house.  They were on the way to Spokane with their four kids.  Denise asked me if I wanted to drive and I agreed.  She then stayed home and took care of other things while Andrew, the kids and I went to Spokane to get capsules and herbs for his practice.  When we got back I helped Andrew by chopping up about a cord of wood that needed to be split.  We then ate a late lunch which was excellent.  After which I was given my first detoxification.  I first put my feet in super hot water, wrapped myself in a sheet, then a shower curtain, then a blanket, then another shower curtain.  I sat in a chair with the hot steam from the five gallon bucket of water coming up all around me and proceeded to sweat profusely for twenty minutes.  I have never sweat so much in my life.
